The Parish Beefsteak was a smashing success by every measure imaginable.  We sold more tickets, had more per capita spending, had the biggest raffle and the biggest 50/50, and had the biggest net profit for the parish than any Beefsteak in the last ten years.  THANK YOU to all who worked so hard to make the event a success.  Good job by Gary Van Shaften is getting speaker Jim Burt, and a special thanks to PGK Jim Liess who traveled up north to MC the giveaways.  A great time was had by all!

SAVE THE DATE for the Texas Hold ‘em, to be sponsored by the Council as our own fundraiser, replacing the St. Pat’s dinner/dance.  The event will be held on May 20, 2011 at the Wayne Elks on Hinchman’s Drive.  Details to follow.

Youth – SK Joe Tomaszek, PGK

Also, SAVE THE DATE for the Eagle Scout Court of Honor, coming up on May 1st at 2:30 PM in the IHM gym.  Honorees are Thomas Buonanato, Phillip Penzo and Michael Sheptock.

Community – SK Vince Ladd, PGK

The Wayne Elks have several upcoming events for your consideration, all of which will be held at the Elks Lodge on Hinchman Drive.  There is the Fish & Chips Nite on Ash Wednesday, March 9th.  I’ve reserved a table of 10, so see me for admission.  Tickets are $9 in advance for adults, $10 at the door, and only $5 for children under 12.  Finally, there is the St. Pat’s Dinner Dance on Saturday, March 12th at 7:30 PM.  I’ve also reserved a table of 10 for this; tickets are $25 per person.

First Saturday – SK Gary Van Shaften

We’re looking to resume First Saturday on April 2nd at St. Anthony’s in Hawthorne. Stay tuned for details.
